about

This is only Side B of a 10" Lathe Cut record released in a very limited edition by Champion Version.

This record exists in two different versions. One is a black lathe cut limited to 10 copies. The other one is a transparent lathe cut limited to 34 copies.

Side A : TOMOKO SAUVAGE - FRÉDÉRIC NOGRAY 'Planetarium'

Extract from a live recording at Espace Mendès France in Poitiers on September 15th 2013. Recording by Éric Cordier and Frédéric Nogray. Organisation of the event by Lieu Multiple. Edited and mixed by Frédéric Nogray at Studio No*Mad in Paris 2014-2017.

Side B : FRÉDÉRIC NOGRAY 'A La Tardecer Con Las Oropendolas'

'A La Tardecer Con Las Oropendolas' belongs to a série of dreamlike compositions with field
recordings mostly from nature recorded in Honduras during two travels there in 2012.

All sounds were field recorded on the North Coast of Honduras on 16 August 2012 in a wildlife refuge in the middle of mangroves (Refugio de Vida Silvestre Cuero y Salado) during sunset. Featuring Montezuma Oropendolas (Psarocolius Montezuma) with chicks.

Edited and composed at Studio No*Mad in Paris April 2017.

Text from the label description: An absolutely beautiful collaboration between Tomoko Sauvage and Frédéric Nogray. 'Planetarium' is an extract from a live recording featuring Tomoko on porcelain bowls, water and hydrophones and Frédéric on crystal singing bowls. It's a deeply emotive and sentimental soundscape with staggered drones and orchestral movements.
Flip over to the B side for 'A La Tardecer Con Las Oropendolas'. Frédéric field recorded all sounds during sunset in a wildlife refuge on the north coast of Honduras. The piece features Montezuma Oropendolas and their hatchlings. The results are an immersive meditation. Go on, submerge yourself.

This super limited edition 10" will be lathe cut to order and will only be available for 7 days from 11 June 2017. It will never be released by Champion Version on this format again and we will only make as many copies as are pre-ordered. Orders shipping out within 28 days of being placed. Limited to one copy per person/household.

Many thanks to Lieu Multiple, Eric Cordier, Marcella Perdomo, Ana Padilla, Ana Angela Randazo y Don Fernando Cruz (Refugio de Vida Silvestre Cuero y Salado).
